WEDDING PLANNER COUNTDOWN CHECKLIST
USE THIS AS A STARTING POINT ONLY
WITH
YOUR WEDDING DAY AND HOUR
BEING THE FOCUS, HERE ARE SOME HINTS AS TO WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

TO 6 MONTHS BEFORE YOUR
WEDDING DAY
Create a
wedding plan book which can include these pages or make your own
Decide on
the style or theme of your wedding
Look at
your finances, how much money are you going to spend
Start a
savings account if you need to help cover the costs
Talk over
the money issue with your parents or relative who may be helping
Pick a
place where you will have your wedding and set the date
If getting
married in a church, talk to the minister about church rules/regulations
Pick your
wedding party, providing them with dates so they can attend
Request
measurements from out of town attendants
Shop for
your wedding dress
Start
working on your guest list
Choose your
attendants, flower girl, and ring bearer
Choose your
groomsmen, ushers, and the best man
Start
shopping for wedding rings if you will be exchanging them
Start
thinking about vendors such as florist, caterers, bakers, photographer
Pick the
place for your reception and lock in the date
Decide on
food, drinks, band, DJ, clean up
Start a
gift registry at your favorite locations
Start
thinking about where you will want to go on your honeymoon
Start thinking about a musician for your wedding
ceremony

TO 4 MONTHS BEFORE YOUR
WEDDING DAY
Finalize
your guest list and order your invitations
Order the
bridal wear and wedding party wear so mothers can coordinate
Check on
accommodations for those coming from out of town
Make
reservations for out of town guests or provide information in invitation
Lock in
your honeymoon plans and arrangements
Be
thinking about any special reading you may want during your ceremony
Be thining about music selections during the ceremony

TO 2 MONTHS BEFORE YOUR
WEDDING DAY
Mail
invitations 6 weeks in advance
Finalize
any plans for the actual wedding celebration
Make any
final purchases for the wedding celebration
Check with
vendors to make sure they are on track and schedule
If
providing gifts for attendants, choose and purchase gifts
Start
checking into legal forms needed for change of name/address
If you are
going to have a bridesmaid luncheon, make necessary plans

TO 1 MONTH BEFORE YOUR
WEDDING DAY
Get that
marriage license
Send in any
legal forms for change of name
If you are
having a bridesmaid luncheon, have it during this time
Contact
honeymoon destinations to confirm plans
Start
thinking about the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, make reservations
If you are
making reservations for out of town guests, do it now
Touch bases
with your photographer discuss any changes
Discuss the
types of photographs you want during your wedding
Talk with
minister to see if photographs can be taken during the ceremony
Get with
your photographer and create a list of photos, formal and candid

TO 1 WEEK BEFORE YOUR
WEDDING DAY
Double
check with all vendors to make sure they have correct dates, times
Between now
and the day before, hold your rehearsal and dinner
Be sure and
pick up your marriage license if you haven’t got it yet
Make a list
of what you will be taking on your honeymoon and start packing
Check your
RSVP’s and provide caterer with a final accurate count
Start
setting aside everything you will need on your wedding day
Make
yourself a checklist for your wedding day
Provide
your photographer with last minute changes to times and locations
for all photos you want shot

DAY BEFORE YOUR WEDDING DAY
Wedding rehearsal and dinner if not done previously
Final
confirmation with all vendors on your list
Pick up
tuxes and shoes from tux shop
Go through
your wedding day check list, and check it twice
Get a
manicure or massage
YOUR
WEDDING DAY
Appoint
someone to make last minute decisions for you if you get busy
Go through
your checklist one last time
Be sure and
take vendor information such as contact phone/names
Take a list
of cell phone number for all attendants
Take some
deodorant
Take some
wet wipes
Take some
safety pins
Take a
small sewing kit
Take hanky
or tissues
Take hair
brush and mirror
Take a
change of clothing for reception if you choose
Take some
hairspray
Take some
antacid tablets
Take some
scissors
Take some
hair pins or clips
Take some
black shoe polish
Bring the rings
Bring the marriage license
DON’T
WORRY, BE HAPPY!
AND
REMEMBER, ONLY A FEW WILL
KNOW IF EVERYTHING DOES NOT GO EXACTLY AS PLANNED. NO NEED
STRESSING
OVER THE SMALL THINGS. ENJOY THE DAY. TREASURE THE MOMENT.
